Description:Panicle open, branches several times longer than spikelets. Spikelets 3-4 cm long, about 6 mm wide, narrowed upward. Lower glumes about 10 mm long. Lemma large, lanceolate, 12-15 mm, at apex with acute teeth, awn 18-22 mm long, arising 3-6 mm under apex.
Comments:Recognizable by very long awns. Short-lived forage grass in deserts and dry mountains.
